In case you missed it, it is coming up soon it is the SHRM 61st Annual Conference & Exposition in New Orleans at the end of June.  This conference provides a comprehensive event for gathering recertification credits – up to 26 – that allows HR professionals to retain their designation while ensuring they stay current on trends, challenges, and solutions.  Sessions include the greatest breadth of educational opportunities available; from Business Education, Executive Education for senior leaders, HR essentials for practitioners, Masters Series programs from academicians, and keynoters selected to educate and engage.

If you want all of the details you can review this 56 page document. There is one thing wrong with this document; it lists Tom Brokaw as the opening speaker. Apparently Tom could not make it. He has been replaced by Jack Welch former CEO of General Electric – I guess Tom’s boss at one point.
 
The webmaster has never added one of these conferences, although that will change after this year as I have plane ticket in hand and hotel reservations bought and paid in full. In speaking with past attendees, I know that the conference offers a lot of educational opportunities as well as a look at the newest, latest and greatest in Human Resources, from software to training programs to gadgets and so on.
 
It would be nice if we could assemble a list of chapter members who plan on attending. At this point these are the folks who I know will be attending: Dave Ryan, Nicole Ralph, Penny Mc Carty and Donna Rogers. If you are planning on attending let me know and I will add you to the list. (This may then involve some after hour’s social networking!)
