Throughout the year in 2009 we had a great array of speakers and this year’s first meeting in 2010 continued the trend.  For the first meeting of the year we looked inward to one of our own members for a great presentation.  Randy Council did just that at the January 2010 meeting.  Randy talked about Performance Management in very realistic and practical terms.   The picture below makes reference to JWD -  Job Well Done; you may need to look at Randy's entire presentation to think that the guy pictured did a job so.

Prior to Randy’s presentation, the regular chapter meeting included the installation of new officers. The new officers were Vicky Fowler – President-Elect, Vice-President Mary Curl, April Cook Secretary, Kim Elder Diversity Chair, Doug Mc Donald Public Relations Chair, and Chris Marecki Membership Chair.  We would like to welcome them all aboard.   And as we thank those who have joined on, we would like to wish a board farewell and a big thanks to outgoing board members Nicole Ralph, Angie Tippey,  and Janine Griffith. 

In February the chapter will be hosting the New Member Orientation at Lincoln Land Community College.  While this is usually largely attended by new members, anyone is welcome to attend.   It is an informal meeting where the board members discuss the benefits of membership in SHRM at both the local and national levels.  

Wrapping up this post we want to remind you about a couple of upcoming events.  This year our local chapter is teaming up with the Illinois State Council to host a two-day legislative conference beginning on April 20 and wrapping on the next day.  Plans are still in the works but it should be a great event. Lastly, be sure to mark your calendars for June 24 at 5 p.m.  This year our recognition dinner will be at Illini Country Club – don’t miss it.
